Silver for Swansea in the international Digital Humanities Awards!

After sharing news of our nomination for a 2014 Digital Humanities Award, we can now share the result! The City Witness website was runner-up (silver medallist) in the Digital Humanities Awards 2014, in the category 'Best use of DH for public engagement'. The final result was based purely on a public vote, so very many thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for us!

Ours was one of the biggest categories in the Awards, with 21 websites nominated. The winner was The American Yawp, an American history website, produced in the U.S., and the second runner-up (bronze medallist) was 1914-18 Online: Encyclopedia of the First World War, produced by a consortium of German universities. So the international reach of these awards is clear.

This award is great recognition for the City Witness project and, more importantly, will help to put medieval Swansea on the map even more widely. Thank you.
